Powertrain Group
The Powertrain Group is responsible for the development and testing of engines and transmissions in vehicles intended for the European market. This includes cooperation with suppliers on hardware development as well as engine and transmission software calibration to achieve performance targets. They also manage the testing of new powertrains and summarise the technical trends of the market to forecast requirements for future products.

Powertrain Design
This team is responsible for the technical design and development of engine and drivetrain components for European vehicles to meet technical requirements, quality and cost targets. This team supports production preparation activities at suppliers' and Toyota production plants. They investigate, evaluate and benchmark European engine technologies.
Powertrain Engineering
This team is responsible for the technical development and testing of engines and transmissions. They evaluate and calibrate software control systems for diesel engines, automatic transmissions and automated manual transmissions. They evaluate and improve the performance, emissions, CO2, fuel consumption and driveability of Toyota cars. They also perform special evaluations including winter, high altitude, hot area and high speed tests.
